Quebec is a French speaking province. Compared with other neighbor provinces, Quebec is still in a relatively inferior position regarding the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With increasing numbers of Chinese immigrants coming to Quebec, more and more Chinese acupuncturists and practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine have also entered the TCM profession, to relief people from all kinds of pain and illnesses and serve the public. At present, the proportion of Chinese acupuncturists registered in the Order of Acupuncturists of Quebec (OAQ) accounts for 10%.
In order to better exchange information and protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese acupuncturists, since June 2021, after many offline and online discussions and consultations, Chinese registered acupuncturists and practitioners of TCM have agreed that it is necessary to establish an organization of our own.
On September 23 2021, the Quebec Association of Acupuncturists and TCM Practitioners was registered.
